2011 Tax Engagement Agreement – Advantage Plus Plan

Welcome to Clergy Advantage! We’re delighted to be your trusted advisor and provide lasting value and peace of mind. To begin your Advantage Plus Tax Preparation & Consulting Plan Subscription, please read this agreement carefully. Once you understand the terms of this agreement, click “Buy Now” to order with Google Checkout.

If you choose to download the form and mail or fax your order, your subscription will begin on the date the Engagement and ACH form are signed.(Download Link located at the bottom of the page) and expires one year from this date. You may schedule a consultation at any time once your subscription is instated but we cannot begin tax preparation until all documentation is received. Consultation time with your advisor may be limited to urgent tax matters during tax season between the months of February through April. Guaranteed filing by the April 15th deadline is contingent upon our receipt of all necessary documents by March 15th.

1. Advantage Plus Plan Services include:

  • Review of your individual 2010 tax returns.
  • An Amendment of 2010 individual returns if determined to be needed.
  • Review of your 2011 Housing Allowance setup.
  • Preparation of the your individual 2011 Federal and State tax return(s) (if required).
  • Electronic filing and extension preparation and filing, if required.
  • A personalized consultation with your Tax Advisor after tax season to discuss the 2011 returns filed and tax planning issues and opportunities for the current year.
  • Consultation with our in-house Financial Advisor to complete and optimize your personal financial/tax plan utilizing specialized strategies for clergy, including retirement options, advanced housing allowance techniques and other appropriate strategies.
  • Up to 2 hours of your Tax Advisor’s time for tax planning/consulting or answering questions and emails during the year.
  • Review and response to Letters and Notices from Tax Authorities.
  • Access to all financial and tax planning webinars offered by Clergy Advantage®.
  • Clergy Advantage® Newsletter and News Flashes.

2. Fee – Clergy Advantage’s fee for client’s one-year subscription to the Advantage Plus Plan is $50 per month for those with a typical tax return filing.

Clergy Advantage® defines a non-typical tax return as those returns having Non-Minister Schedule C businesses, Partnerships, S Corporations, numerous Stock Transactions, Rental Properties, Multiple State returns required and any other non-typical reporting requirements. If we determine that your return does not meet the “typical tax return” status we will advise you of additional charges.

If you have a non-typical tax return you may choose to:

  • Have the $50 stated monthly fee adjusted to reflect the additional amount OR
  • Have the monthly fee remain at the stated amount of $50 and pay the additional fees at the time the tax returns are completed.

In ALL cases the adjustments will be discussed with the Client and both parties will accept the adjustment and be agreed to in writing before this agreement is finalized.

3. Exclusions – The tax preparation fee does not include the following:

  • Audit representation for audits by Internal Revenue Service or State tax authorities.

By signing this agreement you agree to partner with us and…

  • Provide all required information (the CLERGY ADVANTAGE® Tax Organizer with supporting documentation) necessary to complete your tax return(s). This includes all items of income subject to income tax.
  • You understand and accept CLERGY ADVANTAGE®’s policy that tax preparation work will not begin until you make payment arrangements through Google Checkout or we receive a signed automatic funds draft document, and a completed Engagement Agreement with the required information.
  • Retain all the documents, receipts, canceled checks and other records required to substantiate the items of income and expense reported on your return(s) for 5 years. This is especially important if your return is selected for examination by Federal and/or State taxing authorities.
  • If you receive any letters or notices from the IRS or state taxing authorities, you will immediately send a copy to CLERGY ADVANTAGE®.

Also

  • If a question arises regarding the interpretation of tax law, and a conflict exists between the tax authorities’ interpretation of the law and other supportable positions, CLERGY ADVANTAGE® will use professional judgment in resolving the issues.
  • CLERGY ADVANTAGE® will not audit or otherwise verify any information. However, we may require clarification or additional information.
  • CLERGY ADVANTAGE® is not responsible for disallowed deductions or the inclusion of additional unreported income or any resulting taxes, interest and/or penalties assessed.
  • In the event of preparer error, CLERGY ADVANTAGE® is responsible for any penalty assessed due to such error. You will be responsible for additional tax and interest that may be assessed.
  • Extensions may be filed if you do not submit all documents by March 15th that are necessary to prepare your return. There will be no additional charge as long as a signed 2011 Advantage Plus Subscription Agreement is in effect with CLERGY ADVANTAGE®.
  • Should you decide to cancel this agreement a cancellation fee will apply based upon the time services invested in your plan.
