2012 Tax Engagement Agreement – Basic Advantage

Welcome!  To begin your service for Basic Tax Preparation, please read this agreement carefully below. Once you understand the terms of this agreement, click “Buy Now” to order with Google Checkout. A deposit of $200 is required with this service to begin processing. Please note that this Basic service does not provide extra consulting or planning time through out the year.

This is an agreement between Clergy Advantage® Inc. for the Preparation of your 2011 Federal and applicable State income tax returns.

Basic Tax Preparation Services Clergy Advantage will prepare the Federal and applicable State income returns for 2011, based on Client information obtained by interview, mail, e-mail. Consultations are included only if they relate to the actual tax preparation. Your estimated tax preparation fee includes:

  • One hour of financial planning with our financial advisor to optimize tax advantages and clergy retirement strategies.
  • Free filing of extensions upon your request
  • Free electronic filing of tax returns
  • Clergy Advantage® Newsletter and News Flashes
  • Access with Log In to Client Resources, worksheets & forms
  • Free educational services, workshops, webinars

Estimated Fee Clergy Advantage’s estimated fee for the 2011 preparation, including the services listed above is determined by complexity of the return and based upon a typical clergy tax return filing. Any changes to the estimated fee, due to unknown or changing circumstances, will be determined and agreed to by Client and Clergy Advantage before completion of the tax returns.

Clergy Advantage® defines a non-typical tax return as those returns having Non-Minister Schedule C businesses, Partnerships, S Corporations, numerous Stock Transactions, Rental Properties, Multiple State returns required, and any other non-typical reporting requirements that we will be glad to discuss prior to commencement of return preparation.

By purchasing this service you agree to partner with us and…

  • Provide all required information (the CLERGY ADVANTAGE® Tax Organizer, either paper or electronic version, with supporting documentation) necessary to complete your tax return(s). This includes all items of income subject to income tax.
  • Tax preparation work cannot begin until there is a signed Engagement Agreement and your deposit has been received.
  • You must retain all the documents, receipts, canceled checks and other records required to substantiate the items of income and expense reported on your return(s) for 5 years. This is especially important if your return is selected for examination by Federal and/or State taxing authorities.
  • If you receive any letters or notices from the IRS or state taxing authorities, you will immediately send a copy to CLERGY ADVANTAGE®.

Also:

  • If a question arises regarding the interpretation of tax law, and a conflict exists between the tax authorities’ interpretation of the law and other supportable positions, CLERGY ADVANTAGE® will use professional judgment in resolving the issues.
  • CLERGY ADVANTAGE® will not audit or otherwise verify any information. However, CLERGY ADVANTAGE® may require clarification or additional information.
  • CLERGY ADVANTAGE® is not responsible for disallowed deductions or the inclusion of additional unreported income or any resulting taxes, interest and/or penalties assessed.
  • In the event of preparer error, CLERGY ADVANTAGE® is responsible for any penalty assessed due to such error. Client will be responsible for additional tax and interest that may be assessed.
  • CLERGY ADVANTAGE® will not file any Federal, State or local Tax Extensions without Client’s specific request to do so. Extensions will be filed at no charge as long as your subscription is in effect according to the terms already listed.
  • Should you decide to cancel this agreement a cancellation fee will be deducted from your deposit. The minimum cancellation fee is $50.00 and will be reviewed based upon the time and services invested in your return.
  • We have the right to withdraw from this engagement, at our discretion, if you don’t provide us with any information we request in a timely manner, refuse to cooperate with our reasonable requests or misrepresent any facts. Our withdrawal will release us from any obligation to complete your return and will constitute completion of our agreement. You agree to compensate us for our time and expenses through the date of our withdrawal.
